BUSINESS BROADBAND

We talk with our customers often and understand their needs. We know that our customers want:

  • a simple to install and use service,
  • a reliable service,
  • a fast service,
  • a good level of technical support,
  • a service that will enable them to go home at a reasonable time, put the bairns to bed and allow them to finish off work from home,
  • a service that will allow external systems to connect to them remotely e.g. online booking systems, remote technical support etc.
It isn't rocket science but so many of our customers have had disappointing experiences with other broadband service providers over the years. The large broadband service suppliers simply want an increasing body count. They are interested in the domestic user and the big businesses. But for the rest of us, the micro and small businesses, they don't seem to really care.

Watching the major providers advertising campaigns, one could be forgiven for thinking that the core service is identical and what is important is the periphery. Nothing could be further from the truth and this is why there are so many disappointed broadband users.

TEX SPEX

If you already have a Broadband account we will help you transfer to our services. If you already have am ADSL router then we will help you modify the settings or send you a replacement. Either way, we aim to provide a seamless transition with no loss of service.

Once installed and commissioned, you can look forward to an improved service that is reliable, does what you want it to do and helps your business to grow.

Reliable.

Imagine two identical pieces of equipment. One used by 20 connections and one used by 50 connections. Which do you think will be slower and have the most problems?

Well, that is what you can expect to see at your local telephone exchange. The vast bulk of domestic and business users are crammed onto equipment with 49 other connections (a connection may have more than one person on it at any one time). At Scotz.Net, our customers benefit from using equipment with just 19 other users resulting in a robust and reliable service.

Fast

The trouble with the information super highway is traffic jams.

Have you ever wondered why your Internet connection is slower:
  • in the morning ?
(when people switch on their computers at work),
  • at lunchtime ?
(when people use the Internet for personal use),
  • in the evening
(after people have returned home from school and work and use the Internet for personal use).
With 49 other connections running alongside yours, like any road, traffic moves more slowly when it is busy. And remember, one connection does not mean one person. With home networks commonplace nowadays, one connection may support an entire family's computers, game consoles, smart phones etc - all using the Internet.

At Scotz.Net, our customers use the special, less congested, faster roads resulting in a faster, smoother and more robust service.

Technical Support

Hands up all those who have experienced the joys of trying to get a fault repaired by one of the major providers. Has anyone lost an hour or two trying to explain and progress your fault report?

With Scotz.Net, our customers have just one call to make - to us. We talk you through a couple of very simple tests and, if the problem remains, then we take over and handle the engineering process. In the meantime you save yourself a huge amount of stress and can carry on with other productive work.

Some of our rural customers are with us simply because we deal with fault rectification.

Remote Access

Imagine having a postal address that kept changing; no one would be able to find you. The same applies to computers. With a static IP address, your computer's address doesn't change and that means we can access it, with your permission, to resolve any technical issues before it affects your business.

We are a small business. We understand small businesses. We understand that you will need some computer support from time to time and this is where we can help.

At Scotz.Net, all our broadband customers are allocated a static IP address as standard. Virtually all major providers will supply dynamic IP addresses. If you require a static one then it will almost certainly be a chargeable extra.

External Systems

The days of simply using the Internet as a repository of information has long gone for many businesses. It is a place where business is done.

Holiday businesses can be linked into online booking systems. Independent Financial Advisors can be linked through to the major insurers and pension funds. Market traders can be linked to the financial instrument markets. And all of this is because of the secure and encrypted Internet connections that are available today.
